BankAmerica Expected To Lead Technology After SecPac Merger

BankAmerica Corp.'s technology staff is expected to dominate the bank's systems operations following its effective acquisition of Security Pacific Corp. But officials say it's too early to predict whose trading-room system platform will be the architecture of choice for the merged bank.

The proposed merger is expected to produce a regional foreign exchange trading powerhouse in the long term. In the short term, however, a cut in total trading staff is likely, as is a battle between the banks'
