SMX Adds Low-Latency TOCOM Connection

The startup Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX) has established a low-latency network link with the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) that will allow traders on both markets to access each market simultaneously once the SMX commences trading on August 31, according to exchange officials.

The new linkage is provided through a partnership with telecommunications providers KVH and local provider Singapore Telecommunications. KVH expanded its global Ethernet network into Singapore in April and TOCOM
