ILX Outage Leaves Users With No Data For Several Hours; Symbol Update Bug Blamed


Users of ILX Systems Inc.'s market data services found themselves without data for as long as two hours recently, as a bug in the vendor's symbol update facility wreaked havoc at its central data site in New York. Some 60 percent of ILX's customers saw no interruption in service, while others could access only back-office and news information but no price data.
