WatersTechnology Asia Awards 2020: Best AI-based Solution—IPC Systems
IPC Systems wins the best artificial intelligence (AI)-based solution category in the inaugural WatersTechnology Asia Awards, thanks to its IPC Blotter data visualization tool. Designed in partnership with GreenKey Technologies, a specialist in natural language processing, Blotter enables users to convert their over-the-counter voice quotes into structured data feeds.
According to IPC, with over 6,600 market participant locations in 750 cities around the world, Blotter has the capability to unlock key market data populated by voice quotes. The offering combines voice and AI technology, which IPC believes has the potential to transform the financial markets in the future. The combination of high-quality voice streams with compliance surveillance and business analytics systems has resulted in faster front-office workflows and more accurate, integrated data within a single system.
Client demands and expectations are constantly growing, which means capital markets firms are under increasing pressure to provide the best possible technologies and services to their clients. They are also having to navigate a growing list of regulations from across the world. Trading desks are striving for faster execution, more efficient communication and streamlined settlement and reporting processes, challenges that Blotter is well placed to address.
Over the past year, IPC has witnessed two primary developments for both itself and its customers. The first is the continued transformation of IPC into a subscription-based platform provider, while the second entailed the expansion of the firm’s service range during the Covid-19 pandemic. Bringing more remote-work products to market has helped to ensure disruption-free work processes, even when traders are working remotely. Over the first half of 2020, IPC actually grew its offerings in four core remote-work products, helping to ensure the continued service and delivery for its capital markets clients.
“As a leader in trading communications and innovation around emerging technologies such as natural language processing, machine learning and speech recognition, we are honored that the Blotter solution has been recognized by industry leaders in this year’s WatersTechnology Asia Awards,” says Bruce Maslen, vice president, Asia-Pacific sales at IPC. “Blotter has broken new ground in trade execution, analytics and compliance, and is a remarkable feat of engineering, as trading is fast-paced, uses unique terminology, and often occurs in noisy environments. It is a prime example of how IPC is unlocking the value in voice communications and developing highly accurate language models to serve the financial markets both in Asia and around the world.”
