Asia Awards 2022: Best alternative data provider—FactSet
FactSet won the award for best alternative data provider in this year’s WatersTechnology Asia Awards on the back of delivering high-quality content, analytics and technology to its more than 171,000 users. Its ever-expanding suite of datasets, datafeeds and APIs has made it an industry leader in acquiring, integrating and managing data. The alternative datasets collected by FactSet include a business industry classification system, shipping data, sanctions data, geographic revenue exposure data, supply chain relationships, and ESG insights.
FactSet leverages alternative data to find signals and uncover risk, crucial to understanding portfolio exposure and maintaining performance. Its Developer Portal is continuously enhanced, helping clients enrich their proprietary applications and digital portals. FactSet has also joined the Amazon Web Services Data Exchange and will deploy over 30 proprietary datasets on it, allowing clients to consume FactSet’s content for faster, more efficient decision-making. In addition, it has announced an expanded offering with Snowflake. Looking ahead, FactSet’s acquisition of Truvalue Labs will augment its ESG offering, providing AI and complex algorithms able to sift through millions of data points and uncover ESG information from more than 100,000 third-party data sources. Meanwhile, the acquisition of BTU Analytics will expand the collection, integration, and coverage of metrics for a range of industries.
