Waters Rankings 2024: Best trading floor communication system provider—Cloud9
Cloud9 wins the best trading floor communication system provider category in the 2024 Waters Rankings.
Overview
Markets are moving more rapidly than ever, necessitating faster, smarter, and more flexible communication between trading desks on both sides of the industry. Incumbent hardware-based technology cannot meet modern traders’ and markets’ speed and flexibility requirements. Cloud9, part of Symphony, is a cloud-native trader voice platform that provides rich telephony features, seamless deployment and data-based insights to improve efficiency and decision-making throughout the trader communication process.
As a company providing derivatives execution services to the institutional community, we cannot have anything but the best in terms of communication technology and voice quality. We have exclusively used Cloud9 for the last four years after being with other communication technology providers for multiple decades prior to that
Anish Vora, CEO, FCF Securities
The solution
- Rich telephony features: Comprehensive calling capabilities in a software interface. Hardware is also available for fixed working spaces and those who prefer desktop phones.
- Seamless deployment: Supporting on- and off-board users, allowing them to connect to global counterparties in seconds. Cloud9 has a professional services team available for deployments, training and support.
- Data-based insights: Calls can be securely recorded and stored not only for regulatory compliance, but extraction of metadata, which can then be aggregated to identify patterns and optimize workflows.
Secret sauce
Cloud9 was built to be a cloud-native software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering, allowing it to iterate and deploy new improvements quickly to all its clients. Allied with high-quality customer service, Cloud9’s users get the product, functions and support they require rapidly and efficiently.
Recent milestones
Cloud9 has deployed over 100 product enhancements in the last year, in addition to significant expansion of its global user community. The firm is especially excited about the addition of AI-powered background noise suppression, call analytics dashboards, and call transcription, which provide insight into the trading-related calls firms make on a daily basis. The firm’s community has expanded geographically, while last year, the Cloud9 platform was rolled out across one of Australia’s largest banks to satisfy its cost, flexibility and performance needs as part of a major office relocation.
We are honored to be named the best trading floor communication provider in WatersTechnology’s 2024 Waters Rankings. This win reflects a significant shift in the market toward cloud-native solutions, and our long-term commitment to state-of-the-art voice workflows for financial institutions and markets, as our platform enables secure, flexible connectivity in a highly volatile environment
Michael Lynch, chief product officer, Symphony
Future objectives
Cloud9 is focused on leveraging high-quality call transcriptions to provide AI-powered deal identification to its customers. In addition to this and a number of other improvements, the firm is set to launch a mobile application to help keep users connected while they are away from the desks. It is also expanding into more tier-one institutions and across a variety of desks and asset classes.
