Waters Rankings 2025: Best mobile solutions provider—Symphony
Name of product or service: Symphony Messaging
Overview
Symphony Messaging is a secure and compliant messaging platform built for use across the global capital markets. Its modular technology enables over 1,000 institutions to ensure data security, navigate complex regulatory requirements and optimize business interactions. Symphony’s regulatory technology addresses the need for financial institutions to stay secure and compliant, which is critical during times of market volatility and digital disruption. A number of large US-based financial institutions have had to pay more than $3 billion in fines since 2021 relating to an investigation led by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) into the use of unapproved communication channels, which highlights the need for secure and compliant solutions more than ever. The Symphony Messaging platform helps mitigate this risk by supporting appropriate governance and compliant business collaboration and communication.
We are honored to be named as the best mobile solutions provider in the 2025 Waters Rankings. Today’s environment continues to be volatile and ever-changing, and being recognized with this honor serves as testament to our team’s dedication to serving financial institutions and enabling security and compliance in unprecedented times
Brad Levy, CEO, Symphony

At Symphony Innovate in May 2025, HSBC demonstrated how HSBC’s GPB Chat integrates with Symphony Messaging to connect the bank’s Global Private Banking clients with their relationship managers, allowing HSBC clients to communicate, receive market information, and discuss authenticated trades through familiar apps like WhatsApp. “Our clients absolutely love this service,” said a senior digital product owner at HSBC.
Product roadmap
As demonstrated on stage at Symphony Innovate in May 2025, messaging encryption was a hot topic. Symphony COO Mike Lynch, and Mario Orphanou, senior director, product management, concluded the event by showcasing Symphony’s new Confidential Cloud, a managed software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for secure messaging and voice that eliminates the need for on-premises components. Demonstrated through Symphony Messaging’s “While You Were Away” AI summarization tool, Confidential Cloud is designed to keep firms’ information encrypted across the cloud, maintaining data protection when using AI for tasks like communication insights. “Symphony provides the tools, platforms, and architecture to not only protect your data but your customer’s data,” Lynch said.
