GIS launches ASP versions of accounting products

PRODUCT LAUNCH | DEVELOPER ROLLS OUT ASP PRODUCTS FOR HEDGE FUNDS

HACKENSACK, N.J.-- Global Investment Systems (GIS), an accounting software developer for the investment management and hedge fund industries, has begun rolling out ASP versions of its products.

The firm’s MFact fund accounting product and MShare transfer agency and shareholder record-keeping product are now available in hosted formats, while the MHedge hedge fund accounting system and MPartner fund partnership accounting system will be rolled out as ASPs shortly, according to GIS director of US sales and marketing Mary Pizzichino.

"The tier of customer we’re going after certainly wants it, but it needed to make sense for us to have that offering," Pizzichino says. "As we began mentioning it out there, people were very receptive to it. They want to reduce their own internal costs, so it’s a lot less painful for us to do it than them."

Pizzichino adds that while GIS had targeted smaller-tier buy-side firms with its new, hosted systems, larger investment managers have also shown interest in the ASP products to implement more internal cost savings.

Clients who choose GIS’ hosted systems can access them remotely via a VPN firewall and a Citrix mainframe server for encryption purposes. GIS provides continuous backup for its ASP products for data integrity, as well as all necessary software patches and system upgrades.
