(To be honest, this column is written on a rather humid October morning in New York where warm temperatures are not the norm for this time of year. Maybe the End of Days is here indeed and we should remember to bring the sunscreen and bottled water.)

After speaking with experts on Mifid, it is safe to assume that the EU will not be handing out fines like speeding tickets. Instead, our experts who spoke at a trio of Waters breakfast briefings said that Mifid's impact may not be seen or truly felt
