S&P Shifts Focus From Information to Investment
RESEARCH AND DATA
NEW YORK--Standard and Poor’s (S&P) Information Services group, which offers financial commentary, investment advice and real-time market data, is changing its focus from retail brokerage firms to investment managers. S&P plans to effect this shift through product development and acquisition and has renamed the group Investment Services to reflect its new focus.
The strategy behind the transformation, which began in the fourth quarter of 2001, responds to three factors that are driving demand
