Research produced by analysts in Asia-Pacific is on a par with Western research, despite having to contend with more obstacles to open analysis, concluded one panel at IMD Asia.
Iain Reed, Asia managing director of AQ Research, said that according to his company's AQ Ratings scores, US analysts are better at forecasting earnings per share figures, though this may simply mean that US values are easier to forecast, as US companies are more forthcoming in providing financials guidance to analysts.
