DJ Newswires Buys Bridge News’ Live Wire, Commodities Customer Contracts

NEW YORK--Bridge News has agreed to sell all its unbundled commodities and Live Wire customer contracts to Dow Jones Newswires, effectively shutting down one of the four primary global real-time news services.
Dow Jones Newswires will pay Bridge $6.5 million in cash, according to a Dow Jones press release. According to an internal memo sent to all Bridge employees, the transaction is expected to close sometime in September.
