New Irish Derivative Market Goes Live With ICCH's ATS-2

After two months of debugging, the guinea pig installation for International Commodities Clearing House Ltd.'s Automated Trading System-2 is now in operation. The Dublin-based Irish Futures & Options Exchange began trading three contracts last week.
The launch is significant for both IFOX and ICCH. For the fledgling IFOX, observers have questioned the need for yet another European futures and options exchange, particularly one so closely neighboring the numerous London exchanges.
