SWITCH FAILURE HALTS NYSE, REGIONAL TRADING
A communications switch failure last Monday caused trading on the New York Stock Exchange to halt for 59 minutes. The malfunctioning switch prevented traders from receiving current prices and executing orders for 2,500 of the 3,090 stocks listed.
