When I first received the questions for a panel I was sitting on at an Xtrakter breakfast briefing in December, I skimmed through and added short notes such as 'very unlikely,' 'not much,' and 'great idea, but unlikely to happen.' It was all about standards and reference data, and it seemed pretty gloomy.

It is difficult to argue that the European market is likely to move towards an agreed set of data standards in the next 12 months, especially when you find yourself speaking to data
