Mashreq, a United Arab Emirates (UAE) bank, has installed Prolexic's Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) software to guard against cyber-attacks.

A recent report by Hollywood-headquartered Prolexic claims that 5.7 quadrillion bits of data and 1.1 trillion malicious packets were identified during the first quarter of 2012, a 3,000 percent increase over the fourth quarter of 2011.
