Spain's BME Grows IBEX Index Data

BME will calculate values for the new indexes in real time and disseminated every 30 seconds starting on March 13.

Exchange officials say that four of the indexes─the IBEX Medium Cap Total Return, IBEX Medium Cap Net Return, IBEX Small Cap Total Return, IBEX Small Cap Net Return─are linked to two of its existing indexes, providing total and net dividend return versions of the IBEX Medium Cap and IBEX Small Cap indexes.

The exchange will also add total and net return indexes for two other indexes, the IBEX Top Dividendo and FTSE 4Good IBEX─the IBEX Top Dividendo Total Return, IBEX Top Dividendo Net Return, FTSE 4Good IBEX Total Return, FTSE 4Good and IBEX Net Return indexes, respectively.

Carmen López, an index manager in the exchange's equities unit, says BME will disseminate the index data via data vendors through BME Market Data, the exchange's market data subsidiary, and will also publish index values at the market close in a daily summary available on BME's website.

López says the exchange will not charge any additional fees for the new indicators, and will include them in clients' existing fees for data on the IBEX indexes family.

The amount of historical data available will depend on the base date of each index, and will be distributed through BME Market Data and via data vendors.
