Volante Adds New Offices, Hires McKenna for Marketing
Appointment of data technology marketing veteran will unify vendor's brand across growing locations.
The vendor currently serves more than 80 customers in over 25 countries worldwide─with offices in London, Dubai, Mexico City and Chennai, India─but in response to increased client operations in North America has opened a new location in Jersey City, NJ. The office will replace an existing smaller office in the region, and will provide the vendor with "room to grow" over the next few years, says Volante chief executive Vijay Oddiraju.
Volante already operates a product development office in Chennai, one of the largest industrial centers in South India, but due to an "aggressive" product development roadmap, has expanded this team significantly over the past 12 months. As a result, the vendor is opening a new point of presence in Hyderabad to enable it to further expand its product development and quality assurance capabilities, and to tap into a new talent pool in the region.
"We have had an office in India for a long time since our inception, and now we have added another location with the purpose of attracting more talent from India's talent pool," Oddiraju says. The office will focus on developing software that helps firms integrate, validate and process financial data and messages in a more automated fashion to improve transparency.
In addition to the new offices, Volante has hired Peter McKenna as global marketing director in London, responsible for directing and harmonizing the vendor's global marketing strategy and operations, and reporting directly to Oddiraju. Before joining Volante, McKenna worked at market development consultancy Tribar Consulting, providing consulting on product, marketing and sales operations, prior to which he was market development director at portfolio management, data management and analytics provider DST Global Solutions, where he oversaw the global marketing strategy. He also served as marketing and sales director at market data contributions technology vendor Gissing Software, held senior marketing roles at banking software vendors Temenos and Misys, and spent 10 years in various business development roles at Reuters.
McKenna will work directly with Volante's product management and sales operations teams to ensure Volante continues to build products that address industry challenges, as well as to ensure a consolidated brand across all its growing geographies, including the new offices in New Jersey and Hyderabad.
"We aren't increasing the number of staff, but rather we are focused on getting the right kind of people. Peter is an example of someone with domain experience, with the quality and expertise to help us better serve customers," Oddiraju says.
