AlphaSense Gets $33M to Grow Financial Search

The funding will allow the vendor to almost double its headcount and expand its search platform to new markets and asset classes.

Founded in 2008, AlphaSense has until now funded its growth from revenues and some funding from angel investors, without any institutional private equity backing. The new investors include Tribeca Venture Partners, Triangle Peak Partners and Quantum Strategic Partners, as well as certain individual investors, including former Thomson Reuters chief executive Tom Glocer, who had previously acted as an advisor to the vendor prior to investing.
