Paxos wins temporary approval for blockchain clearing push

Blockchain infrastructure company will have a period of 18 months to “ramp up” readiness for operations, per the SEC’s approval letter.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has temporarily approved an application from Paxos Securities Settlement Company to provide securities settlement services and register as a clearing agency. 

PSSC, a subsidiary of Paxos Holdings, a blockchain-based financial infrastructure company, filed its application with the US regulator last July. Through the Paxos Settlement Service, a private, permissioned service that supports distributed ledger technology, PSSC will conduct delivery-versus
