NAFIS 2017: Evolving Data Science Key to Effective Data Mining

Integrating data science projects will be key for institutions to get the most out of data in the future, but skillsets and the role of data scientist teams are still evolving. Joanne Faulkner reports.

Victor Tewari, a senior technology officer at BMO Financial Group, who moderated the discussion, said that firms are starting to realize they have “an ocean of information not only within their firms but within their grasps. Data is quite cheap, and that information is only as useful as how well you can actually mine that information and derive meaning from it.”
