Oh, how the tables have turned.

A year ago, the Investors Exchange (IEX) was in the midst of the fight of its life, working to gain regulatory approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to become a national exchange. The process was a constant battle, as several firms, including some exchange operators, submitted comment letters voicing concerns about the potential impact IEX and its 350-microsecond speed bump would have on the wider markets if approved.
