Italian Regulator to Use GFI CDS Data

Interdealer broker GFI Group will this month begin providing credit default swap (CDS) data to Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (Consob), the Italian securities market regulator-possibly for use by the regulator for market surveillance purposes.
GFI officials decline to disclose terms of the contract, which was signed last month, but confirm that the agreement provides Consob with intraday files of all the data on CDS bids, offers and trades that GFI's broking desks
