Cooper Takes Helm, Lays Off Nine At Quote.com

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--Quote.com founder Chris Cooper is shaking things up at the Internet vendor. The company recently laid off nine employees, including its chief executive officer Thomas Henry. The bulk of the layoffs were made to cut costs.

Henry, who was brought in to run Quote.com in February, was let go in early November. Cooper will take over his duties. Unlike the other personnel cuts, Henry's departure wasn't motivated by cost-cutting reasons, Cooper says.

Instead, the move was made
