Telekurs 19.2 Ticker Lags In The Morning, User Firms Report

Telekurs (North America) Inc.'s 19.2 kilobit/second digital data feed -- known as Ticker -- regularly lags behind the market for the period of high-volume trading that immediately follows the New York open.

Word of the problem has emerged some eight months after Telekurs boosted its bandwidth to 56 kilobit/second (IMD, May 11, 1992). In upgrading the feed, Telekurs cited ever-increasing trading volumes and an expectation that bandwidth problems would arise.
