Reuters Customers In Europe Suffer Six-Hour Outage


On February 19, Reuters experienced a so-called database corruption that rendered the data it offers from the most important exchanges in Europe virtually useless. For more than six hours, European Reuters users did not have access to timely data from the London Stock Exchange, the Paris Bourse, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the Swiss Exchange and a raft of others. As a result of the Reuters failure, Bloomberg's network experienced such increased traffic that users in the UK found it too
