LSE Delays Sedol Launch

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has indefinitely delayed the launch of its new Sedol Masterfile service amid serious concerns that vendors and data consumers would not have been ready to use the new codes immediately.

The enhanced Masterfile Service, which replaces numeric-only codes with alphanumeric Sedol codes, was due to go live on Monday, Jan. 26. The exchange has not announced a revised go-live date but says it will do so on Friday, Jan. 23. It says the date "will not be significantly later
