Thomson Buys First Call Shares; Terms Undisclosed

NEW YORK--Thomson Financial announced that it has purchased the outstanding minority shares of First Call from eight brokerage partners: Credit Suisse First Boston, Deutsche Bank Securities, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Prudential, Salomon Smith Barney and UBS Painewebber. Terms were not disclosed. President and CEO Patrick Tierney says the move allows Thomson to fully integrate First Call with the other Thomson products. Thomson will maintain its relationship with the brokers
