LSE Plans Sedol Code-Checking Service

London - The London Stock Exchange plans to launch a Sedol Validation service based on the technology from its Data Validation Service (DVS), despite the recent merger and acquisition excitement at the exchange.

Over the next few weeks the LSE will unveil Seval, a Sedol validation service, which is designed to check the Sedol codes used by individual user firms against the master Sedol database at the exchange, says Mark Husler, head of reference data at the LSE.

Husler says it will check a number
