Bloomberg Data Fee Model Changes Raising Hackles

Bloomberg has resurrected plans to charge securities services firms that use the vendor’s data to calculate fund net asset values (NAVs) for the right to distribute data to their clients, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Bloomberg called off plans to introduce the data redistribution fee for fund administrator clients early last year, but has put forward fresh proposals that would link the right to distribute some of its data to the new pricing model—dubbed the New Commercial
