FPL Debuts Pre-Launch of FIX 5.0
FIX TECHNOLOGIES
NEW YORK—The FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL) last week unveiled a pre-launch release of its financial information exchange (FIX) protocol, version 5.0, that separates the FIX session layer from the FIX application layer. The full-production release will be ready next month.
Competing messaging technologies on the market already include separate session and application layers, so FIX global technical committee members were compelled to offer the same service, which they have dubbed the "transport
