COX JOINS BARCLAYS AMERICAS

Archibald Cox

has joined Barclays Americas as the business' chairman, Cox will begin his new role with the bank in early May and will report to Barclays president Robert Diamond. He will be a member of the Barclays Investment Banking and Investment Management executive committee. Cox succeeds Chet Feldberg, who is retiring this year after serving as chairman since May 2000. Most recently, Cox served as president and CEO of Magnequench, a manufacturer of rare earth
