As a result of Direct Edge's purchase of the ISE Stock Exchange (see story, page 1), John Ryan, chief architect at the International Securities Exchange, will join Direct Edge in the same role. Ryan joined ISE in 2001 with responsibility for technology architecture, prior to which he was vice president of engineering at Shadowtv.com. Rich Hochron will retain his role as head of software engineering at Direct Edge.
