UK Government Role

Jane Platt, who left her role as COO for Reuters' customer segments last October, has been appointed chief executive and director of savings at National Savings and Investments, the UK government-backed retail savings organization. Platt, who will join NS&I in September on a three-year contract, also sits on the board of Witan Investment Trust and Edinburgh UK Tracker Trust. Prior to joining Reuters in 2001, Platt was chairman and CEO of Barclays
