SEC to Investigate Market Data Issues, Approves Supermontage

WASHINGTON, DC: In a speech at Stanford Law School, Securities and Exchange Commission chairman Arthur Levitt said that the commission is investigating issues of ownership and payment of market data, and it has established an Advisory Committee to consider reforms.
Although Levitt said that he would prefer the SEC avoid an active role in any reforms, he also added, "It is not clear to me that such a plan can be found."
