BofA to Acquire FleetBoston for $47B, Said toHave Upper Hand in Trading IT

NEW YORK--Bank of America (BofA) set in motion last week a $47 billion stock purchase of FleetBoston Financial that is likely to result in BofA having the upper hand when it comes to rationalizing trading technologies, say observers.
