To Fill Vacant CIO Spot, PW Lures Abbey From Bankers

PaineWebber Inc. has named Scott Abbey its new chief information officer, hiring him away from Bankers Trust New York Corp. The move is surprising since Abbey had only just taken his post as a Bankers Trust managing director some six months a go (TST, July 24, 1995). Abbey replaces Robert McKinney, who departed PaineWebber late last year leaving the CIO post vacant (TST, Nov. 13, 1995).

In his new role at PaineWebber, Abbey will report to director of operations, service and systems Bob Silver
