VILLENEUVE TO RETIRE FROM INSTINET

Andre Villeneuve

will retire as executive chairman of Reuters subsidiary Instinet, a role he has held since 1990, at the end of the year, according to officials of the ECN. Villeneuve will be replaced by chairman of Instinet’s audit and compensation committees, Ian Strachan, a director of Reuters since May 2000, and on the Instinet board since September 2000.
