Stop Press: Goldman Sachs named information technology division head Leslie Tortora to its management committee, which has responsibility for policy, strategy and management of the firm's business. Goldman said her appointment "reflects technology's growing strategic importance to the firm." Tortora will also be the featured speaker at the CIO Forum of the Wall Street Middleware Group at the first of its three 1999 meetings on March 18 in New York. Tortora will discuss the technology direction
