SEC Names First COO

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has appointed Jeff Heslop COO, a new position at the regulator.

Heslop reports to SEC chair Mary Schapiro, and is responsible for managing the Commission’s office of information technology, office of financial management and the office of privacy, records management and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) compliance.

Prior to joining the SEC, Heslop served as managing vice president of information risk management at Capital One.
