UK Government Scrutinizes Tech Impact in Finance Industry


The UK Government has announced plans to investigate the impact that technology might have in future on the global financial markets.

The review, said to be conducted by the Government Office for Science, will address concerns that automated trading may have contributed to the May 6 Flash Crash, which saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average plummet by 998 points and recover minutes later.
