SIFMA Opens to Large Audience
The Securities Industries and Financial Markets Association (Sifma) faced an overflow of delegates this morning at the opening general session of Sifma's Financial Services Technology Leaders Forum and Expo, happening now at the Hilton in Midtown Manhattan.
Attendees crammed into a second ballroom to watch, on piped-in closed circuit television, Sifma president and CEO Timothy Ryan give the welcome annoucment, and keynote speaker Gillian Tent, US managing editor of the Financial Times, discuss the future of financial services.
The session also included remarks from Richard Daly, CEO of Broadridge Financial Services; Donald Donahue, president and CEO of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corp.; and David Ferrucci, lead research and principal invetigator with the Wastson/Jepoardy! Project at IBM. They discussed the themes of opportunities technology will bring the industry in the future.
