Edgar Online: Survey Indicates XBRL Growth Potential

The Securities and Exchange Commission should consider extending the financial data for which it mandates use of Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), the data-tagging standard for financial filings, to include other data types already supported by the standard, based on end-user responses to a survey on data usage, say officials at company filings data provider Edgar Online.
