There is a general consensus that businesses have several sources of working capital that they can attempt to access. The first is to generate it from profits, which is achievable if customers pay promptly.

The second is to go to shareholders and apply for funds. The third is to get cash from customers faster. This can be achieved by changing contractual terms—which is pretty much impossible—by offering something else, or by changing the pricing structure. The fourth is to pay suppliers late
