Update: Dow Jones President Larsen Quits Amid Exec Reshuffle

Dow Jones has announced a series of changes to its executive team -- including new hires that draw heavily on Bloomberg Ventures, where Dow Jones chief executive Lex Fenwick was previously CEO -- and the formation of a new business unit, Data Strategy, along with the departure of its president, Todd Larsen.
The new department will combine research teams from across the vendor that collect commercial and market data to power its institutional products and serve the content needs of enterprise clients, and will be run by Joe Lanza, currently president of financial markets at the vendor, but will be directly overseen by Fenwick, who joined the company from Bloomberg Ventures earlier this year (IMD, Feb. 3).
Other changes include the promotions of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network general manager Alisa Bowen to head of product for the company overall; senior vice president of strategy Kelly Leach to managing director of Dow Jones in EMEA and publisher of The Wall Street Journal Europe; and marketing SVP Jennifer Jehn to head of circulation.
To fill other roles, Fenwick has drawn on his former staff from Bloomberg Ventures. Tracy David -- who joined Dow Jones in March from Bloomberg Ventures, where she was head of marketing for its Bloomberg Link events -- replaces Jehn as head of marketing. Victoria Chin, who also joined Dow Jones from Bloomberg Ventures, where she was responsible for Bloomberg Link event operations, becomes head of customer service. And Dan Hayter -- who joins the vendor from Bloomberg LP, where he was managing director of sales for Bloomberg Law -- becomes head of institutional sales for the Americas, replacing John Lee, who left the vendor earlier this month.
At the same time, Dow Jones announced that Todd Larsen has resigned as president of Dow Jones -- a role he held since 2010, after joining the company in 1999 and serving as chief operating officer of its consumer media group, where he oversaw growth of the companys digital business and expanded The Wall Street Journal's content.
In addition to Larsen, the vendor announced that president of DJ Corporate Markets Scott Schulman, SVP of circulation Lynne Brennen, and chief communications officer Bethany Sherman will all leave the company as a result of the changes.
Dow Jones officials did not return calls seeking further comment.
