Citi Culls Most of EU Data Team, Global Data Head in Efficiency Drive

Citigroup has laid off more than half of its market data staff in Europe as well as its US-based director in charge of global market data services, following an announcement in December that the bank would significantly cut employee numbers to achieve efficiency savings.

Sources say the bank has eliminated seven out of 12 market data staff from its European team, primarily at its Canary Wharf offices in London, though the bank declines to name affected individuals, and has also axed New York
