Bloomberg Vows to Expand Barclays Index Unit Post-Acquisition, Keep Index Data Free

The vendor says it has been talking with clients to address any concerns about the transition of the index assets acquired from Barclays.

The acquisition includes the Barclays fixed income benchmark indexes, the BRAIS strategy indexes, and the intellectual property of the POINT portfolio analytics solution.

Since Bloomberg announced the deal in December (IMD, Dec. 16, 2015) data consumers have raised concerns over predicted changes to the commercial model and price rises that may follow as a result of the buyout.
