Distributed ledger proponent Symbiont announced the appointment of Morgan Stanley veteran Caitlin Long as its new president and chairman of the board as the company prepares to commercialize its blockchain technology.

Long, who has been vocal about blockchain technology's ability to disrupt the financial industry in her old firm, will be in charge of commercializing Symbiont's blockchain initiatives including building business strategies and client relationships. She will be reporting to
