ICE Acquires BAML Fixed Income Indexes

Following the London Stock Exchange’s acquisition of Citigroup’s fixed income indexes and analytics business, Intercontinental Exchange bolsters its fixed income assets with the acquisition of the Global Research Index Platform from Bank of America Merrill Lynch.


The platform comprises more than 5,000 fixed income, currency and commodity (FICC) indexes. The BAML indexes are the second most used fixed income indexes by assets under management (AUM) globally. On closing, the combined fixed income index business of ICE will be valued at nearly $1 trillion.

The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2017, after which the indexes will be re-branded as the ICE BofAML indexes, and will become part of ICE Data Services. The ICE BofAML indexes will be
