Two Sigma Offloads Data ‘Wrangling’ to Crux

By offloading its data processing to Crux, Two Sigma will be able to accelerate data acquisition efforts.

New York-based systematic investment manager Two Sigma has enlisted data engineering startup Crux Informatics to take over the hedge fund’s data collection and processing operations.

Two Sigma will migrate its internal data collection and transformation processes for datasets including fundamental data, macro, risk, and alternative data to Crux, to enable the firm to consume more datasets and to focus its efforts higher up the value chain, rather than on processing and formatting data.
